Getting Ready to Go...

Well, it's actually happening, I'm heading off to the "mother land" or as I like to refer to it as, South Korea. It seems like every time I tell someone what my change in life style is going to be, their jaw finds itself smashing against the floor in sheer shock and surprise. To tell the truth I'm completely surprised how all of this is unraveling as well. Just a little over a month ago I came across the posting on Craigslist looking for individuals to teach English in Korea and I figured, "hmmmm, why not?"

If you were to ask my parents this would probably come to no surprise to them as I'm the same individual who randomly called them up to tell them I was going to play semi-pro football, wanted to go sky diving for my graduation gift, was engaged at 19 years old, bought a house at 24, and decided to buy a drum set because I thought it would be cool to play. Needless to say, this is by far the biggest surprise of them all.

I'm going to be teaching at an accredited and highly regarded school in Korea called Avalon. The director of the school sounds very nice and is extremely excited to have me on board. I'll be in the populated city of Jeonju (http://www.esljobproject.com/esl_info/jeonju.html), which after doing some initial research, is a very tourist friendly, and culturally diverse area of Korea.

There will be many more posts to come as I want you all to stay abreast with my adventures in Korea. I'll miss you all but it's not goodbye, it's "I'll see you later, I'm changing my stars!"....corny, yes I know.
